After a long professional career as a Textile Designer, I moved to Gloucester Massachusetts and became intrigued with the Japanese folk art of painting and rubbing fish to document its size, also known as “Gyotaku”. In 2003, I began acquiring fish from local fishermen and have been experimenting with this printing technique. Throughout this journey, I have documented many species which are now under strict fishing regulations. My rubbings can be seen in many galleries throughout New England.
